Natural, unposed wedding photography
I like to photograph weddings in a natural, unposed kind of way. Most couples I meet usually say to me they hate being photographed, I’m not very keen on having my own photograph taken so completely understand those thoughts!
With that in mind I like to capture a wedding day in a relaxed way, finding those photographs that tell the story of your day in a unique and different way without too much intrusion on your wedding day.
My relaxed, natural approach means being as unobtrusive as I can be on your wedding day and photographing the moments of your wedding day as they unfold. . Being more informal and less formal means a more photo journalistic wedding photography style.
I’d far rather take a photograph of you, your family and your friends having a great laugh, sharing a joke or a big old hug than I would standing formally in line for a group photograph.
When you don’t realise you’re having your photograph taken you’re relaxed, more natural and the photographs reflect this.
What about Formal Photographs?
Of course that’s not to say there is no requirement for more formal photographs. Family and group photographs are important, but I suggest to all my couples a pretty tight list of maybe 6-8 formal photographs as a maximum to avoid any great disruption to the day.
Bride and Groom portraits are also fantastic and of course I would recommend a number of those at some point during the day, but again these are relaxed and unposed. I don’t direct you unless you would like some direction to get the best from your photographs. At the end of the day my thinking is it’s your day, it’s your story and it’s yours to decide how you want it.
This is how I go about photographing your wedding day, looking for those moments that mean something, I prefer to look for the story within the day and photograph the moments you can look back on in the future that tell the story of your day as it unfolds.
If you like the sound of the way I photograph weddings in Redditch, Worcestershire or beyond then why not drop me a note and let’s chat about what you want from your wedding day. I’d love to hear your plans!
