So an old friend of mine invited me along to the latest round of the BTCC (British Touring Car Championship) which was held at Oulton Park up in Cheshire last weekend. A great opportunity to really test out the Df, with a couple of prime lenses, to see just how responsive the camera was and how nice the files are.
I opted for just two lenses (35mm f1.8G & 85mm f1.8G) which proved an ideal option for wandering around the paddock and pits area with. Of course for any serious track action I'd need something a lot, lot longer but that wasn't really what I was interested in and not something I have to hand.
Overall impressions of the Df are, well it's good. No, actually it's really good. I just plonked the camera in aperture priority mode, auto ISO (100 - 12,800), minimum shutter speed 1/250th and AF-C focus mode. I think I missed focus on two photographs and that was user error. I'm now seriously considering selling my X-Pro2, the Df is more than up to the job I want it for and even carrying it around all day with the 2 lenses in a small Billingham Hadley bag was no issue at all.
It's fair to say, my Fuji days could well be numbered.
Here's a few photos from the day.
